    In ½ cup olive oil, add 1 tablespoon of cumin. Rub this over the scalp and leave it for half an hour. Rinse the hair later.

    The other group (the control group) massaged only jojoba and grape seed oils into their scalps daily. Each group massaged the oils into their scalps for a total of seven months. Interestingly, 19 of 43 patients (44 percent) in the active group showed improvement compared with only 6 of 41 patients (15 percent) in the control group. The authors concluded that aromatherapy with these essential oils may be a safe and effective treatment for alopecia areata.

    Rosemary Solution - this herb crops up frequently in herbal texts for its ability to cleanse the scalp and stimulate the hair root. Here is one recipe that features rosemary as its core ingredient. Recipe: boil rosemary, sage, peach leaf, nettle and burdock in water. Strain and use to wash hair daily.

    You can excogitate or formulate a solution from coconut oil and Allium sativum. To make this, pour one and half cups of coconut oil into a pan. Crush four Allium sativum cloves and six peppercorns. Add the crushed Allium sativum arlic and pepper to the coconut oil, and heat it to a temperature that is still cool enough for your skin. Sieve this herbal concoction, and rub it into your scalp and hair at once. Carry it once per day for as long as you have to. It is a good natural treatment for men.

    In a ½ cup of coconut oil, add some dry pieces of amla. Boil this mixture and when cool apply it on the scalp. This is beneficial in reducing hair loss.

    Procyanidin B-2: This extract from apples has been shown to promote hair growth in a laboratory study. Perhaps the old adage "An apple a day keeps the doctor away" may soon change to "An apple a day keeps the hair loss away!"

    Cayenne Pepper Hair Tonic - the ability of this herb to irritate the skin, increase blood flow and stimulate cell division is well known. Recipe: mix four ounces of cayenne pepper with one pint of one hundred proof vodka or pure alcohol diluted with 20 percent distilled water. Let it stand for two weeks, shaking the mixture once each day. Strain through several layers of fine cloth until the mixture is free of pepper. Once or twice a day, rub a small amount onto the thinning areas of the scalp.
